Distinctive Characteristics
Action cycle
An explicit expectation of the PYP is that successful inquiry will lead to responsible action, initiated by the student as a result of the learning process. At the Madison Schools we offer the students the opportunity and the power to act, to decide on their actions, and to reflect on these actions in order to build a better world.
Through the action cycle, the students are able to grow personally and socially. The goal is for the experience to foster a personal growth and that the process of acting (or not acting) shall contribute to a set of personal values in each student.
Attitudes
The attitudes, as an essential part of the program, are the evidence of the commitment of the PYP with a curriculum strongly inspired in certain values.
