Mission

Philosophy

To help develop students with psychomotor, affective and cognitive skills which would allow them to develop the critical thinking supported by a solid awareness of its values. This can be achieved through a leading educational program of international quality where the students learn, interact and have an influence on the diversity and plurality of our society.

To perceive education as a gradual, active, continuous and integral process which revolves around the student and helps him/her develop his/her physical, psychological, intellectual and affective potential to have a positive influence as a person and as a member of his/her society at a local, national and international level. This philosophy is based on respecting the dignity of all people, with respect to religion, national origin, beliefs or social condition.

The Madison Bilingual School of Monterrey was the first school of the Madison Group. It was established in the spring of 1978 to offer an educational opportunity to the people of Monterrey, especially those living in the southern part of the city.

The School started with the Montessori system with an initial population of 36 students; today it has over 500.

In 1993 Instituto Anglo Británico is established. It is the first sister school of the Group, in Apodaca County, N.L.

In 1994, with the growing demand of bilingual schools in our community, the CBM decided to become a bilingual school and therefore it adopted a new model. Throughout the transformation process it had the special assistance of a group of Canadian educators who, in collaboration with the Mexican teachers, established the standards and the guidelines so that the new model could be most successful.

The office of the Canadian educators was in Madison County and that is where we had the idea to change the name: from Montessori School to Madison Bilingual School.

In 1999, we establish two more schools, one in Chihuahua and the one in Torreón.

That same year, with the educational demands of a globalized world, the Madison Bilingual School of Monterrey, the Madison Bilingual School of Chihuahua and the Instituto Anglo Británico completed the application process to be registered with the IB (International Baccalaureate Organization).

After four years seeking to comply with each one of the requirements to be accepted as international schools, the Madison Bilingual School of Chihuahua and the Instituto Anglo Británico were authorized by the IB to offer the Primary Years Program (PYP).

In 2007, the Madison Bilingual School of Monterrey and the Instituto Anglo Británico were authorized to offer the Middle Years Program (MYP) for grades 6° thru 9°.

That same year two more schools were established. One to the south of Monterrey, at the Herradura. The other one in Veracruz. These two schools and the one in Torreón are today candidates before the IB. This means they are in the process of complying with all the requirements stipulated by the IB so that in the nearby future, they may be authorized to offer their programs.

In 2011, the IBO accredited La Herradura campus to teach the elementary school program PEP.

The current status of the Madison School La Herradura is of applicant for certification in its Middle Years Program (MYP).
